The PEN Story

A stop-motion film comprised of 60,000 photographs has thrilled millions of spectators


Two weeks production shooting, 23 locations and a total of over 60,000 photographs document the story. 8,600 photographs were selected and used.


The story tells the life story of a man, beginning in the 50s to the present day. Each decade uses an individual dedicated color code. The developed photographs were then sorted and laid out frame by frame in different rooms in an apartment.The time lapse shows the juxtaposition in the movie "The PEN Story," which has been seen on YouTube since July 2009.
